Amp Fiddler
Presented by Audio Engineers of Detroit
In continued recognition of Joseph “Amp” Fiddler’s lifelong dedication to mentorship, education, and the advancement of emerging artists, Audio Engineers of Detroit proudly announces the establishment of the $1000.00 Amp Fiddler Scholarship Fund, awarding two selected students the opportunity to participate in a music production–centered course hosted through Audio Engineers of Detroit in partnership with Camp Amp.
This scholarship is presented in the spirit of Amp’s enduring commitment to sharing knowledge, opening doors, and nurturing the next generation of creators. Throughout his life, Amp believed deeply in providing access to education, technical skill development, and creative empowerment, especially for young artists seeking to develop their voice through music.
Most significantly, Audio Engineers of Detroit holds special meaning within Amp’s educational journey, as it represents one of the final locations where he personally taught music production, music theory, and creative development to aspiring students in Detroit. The continuation of learning in this very space reflects the living nature of his legacy.
Two deserving students will be awarded the Amp Fiddler Scholarship, receiving support toward enrollment in a music production–focused course, where they will gain hands-on experience, technical training, and creative guidance aligned with the standards of excellence Amp championed throughout his career.
Through this scholarship, Audio Engineers of Detroit and Camp Amp continue Amp’s tradition of education, innovation & collaboration through:
- Sharing knowledge
- Building confidence
- Encouraging innovation
- Uplifting emerging talent
- Strengthening Detroit’s creative future
This initiative stands as both a tribute and a promise — that Amp’s spirit of mentorship will continue to shape artists, engineers, and producers for generations to come.
“Through this scholarship, the Camp Amp Legacy continues to teach, inspire, uplift, and create more Detroit Global Creative Ambassadors – just as Amp always intended.”
The ideal applicant for an Amp Fiddler scholarship should be talented, committed, and aligned with Amp’s and AED’s mission of creating real career opportunities for Metro Detroit residents through audio education.
“We are not looking for the most talented students. We are looking for the most committed one.”
